Picture Time

Some Shots from Polska

Poland new connections

Finally i can sit down and write about my last trip to Poland after a restless week of post-trip recovery and partying.

This trip is all about friendship.

With an not so cheap flight from Lot, the polish airlines, i came to Warsaw.
After meeting up with my dear friend and handed over some smuggled German Sausages i head 5 hrs straight up to Sopot, the very north of Poland.

There i was received by my newest buddy, Alicja.
For i have only met her once over a nite of party Leo's and some meeting arrangements via the msn, i will be staying at her place. I think both of us are pretty brave and i'm glad it happened.

First we have to rush off from the train station to drop my bag then to the Basketball stadium for the Polish national playoffs. Where Alicja and her brother Peter are avid basketball fans of their home team, Sopot. This is not some lame singapore basketball team, they had reach the quater finals of the European 'champion's league' b4 and were also a national champion team.
With Popcorn and Coke i enjoyed the exciting match. It was definitely an memorable experience to watch a basketball match in Poland!! Which tourist would have tried it?

After a prompt rest and some yummy polish sandwiches by alicja's mum. We head to some bars to chill lax...This brother and sister pair aims to make me drunk with exotic polish drinks. Of cos they failed, but we had so much fun by just simply chilling out, chatting and playing some games.

I should also mention, Jacky, who is totally crazy over my presence and tried to kiss me when i was sleeping. I woke up with jacky nose right next to mine. By the way.....Jacky is their pet dog.

A trip to Sopot beautiful Beach and Gdansk Glowny (old town) follows after a refreshing long sleep that i totally needed.
(P.S: I havent slept the nite b4 the trip, traveled 1 1/2 hrs of flight, 5hrs of train.)

Gdansk was a nice city with rich architecture and also yummy food! i had my lunch at Sphinx, a famous polish restuarant chain and i love my shoama...slurrrp.

Some pictures and great hospitality by Alicja and Bro, i'm leaving Gdansk for Warzawa!

At warsaw, there are abt 9 Singaporean SMU students there, tho i only met abt 5-6 of them. I was totally excited and elated. Singaporeans u know......i haven seen 1 for a very very long time..
Together, the singapore gang , 2 german students and 1 german army boy we went to club in Harlem. The only club that i went in poland, it wasnt fanciful but it has great RnB music and definitely the best company i could have. I had lots of fun.

Next was a picnic with these people at one of the parks.
Warsaw wasnt much abt sightseeing, afterall....Its all about the same.
Warsaw is more about forging frienships, chilling out and talking the singapore way.
I enjoyed myself alot in warsaw, Thank you my friends!

With very limited time, i failed to make it to Aushwitz concentration camp but still manage to squeeze something out from Krakow under 3hrs. Old town Old town...Churches, town square, town hall, rivers and bridges. Pretty nice.

Then i was back to Warsaw in the evening for some final Chunkilo (chill lax) session at the bar below the Student Dorm. After a nice farewell lunch, with sweet memories by these beutiful and nice people from singapore, i'm going back to Germany...

Portuguese Hamburger

Another visit to Hamburg,
Familiar sights but total different experience, of course not possible with my 2 dearest portuguese frens. Magharida and Franciso, A dreamer who lives in a fantasy cartoon world and a Friendly Giant that is warm yet cool.

Thanks to these 2 Portuguese folks i had a sumptous portuguese food and their beer.
Reliving my childhood at the already extinct funfairs of singapore in Reeperbahn.
Eating Cotton candies not fearing recognition by my friends.

Picnic was supposed to happen today but gloomy skies changed our destiny.
Till then, Poland on thursday!

Holiday Eve's at Leo's

On Good Friday's Eve,

Leo the cool French dude, activated me to his house party.
With nice apple crumple's and tart by Romina, lotsa beer and of cos fun.
Mingling and making new frens, getting travel tips from Alecja to poland and i never fail to sell them a visit to the beautiful paradise home of mine, Singapore.

Part 2 of the party proceeded at Schwemme, an outlandish hostel club with lame disco light, lamer music and the lamest bartender. However to my surprise, it turn out to be a great party.
Like i always say, you don't need the best club and music, you just need to have the right people.

I proudly introduced Drinking goggles and five-ten to the spanish boys and alecja and they love the goggles game so much that we played all nite and changed it to German Language.

Lotsa fun and lotsa new frens, Alecja gave me a ride on her bike. She's Strong!!!

Nacht Der Club

Start point: Del Fuego

End Point: Max Disco

Last saturday, i joined the rest of the exchange students to party all nite with the rest of the kiel's hippies.

Nacht Der Club is a clubbing event that you pay 1 cover charge (8 euros) and you get to club in over 10 clubs/disco with transport inclusive. It was a crazy event but totally fun.

Buses with Signs "Nacht Der Club" would run around a clubbing route bringing you from club to club with time schedules written in the clubs. Every-able-one seem to be out clubbing, packing all the clubs that i went and the buses transporting sardines of clubbers.

We started off from Del fuego->Club X->Afterdark-> Max disco

It is really surprising and amusing to see this sleepy town turn into a massive party zone with clubbers jumping from clubs to clubs and forcing themselves onto the Clubbing Bus.

I heard from Romina that we will have 10 days of this in June during the Kieler Woche...Wohoo
